But I USED TO BE Drunk!

Mark Johnson of Ventura, California isn't denying any of the fundamental facts, so far as occurring a 17 hour gambling binge on the Downtown Grand Casino in Vegas in January and losing over $500,000 playing pai gow and blackjack.

He also have been upfront about his past history of comparable binges, claiming that he is lost from $500,000-$800,000 on several different occasions previously during epic sessions on the high roller tables.

What Johnson is arguing, however, is that he was absolutely blitzed out of his mind after having as many as 20 drinks during his gambling bender -- that have been onn top of an estimated ten drinks that he had during dinner before taking to the tables.

The bulk of the losses came from markers that the Downtown Grand extended to him, with Johnson $100,000 (and losing it), another $100,000 (losing that), $50,000 (lost that too), and a last marker for $250,000 (yep, he lost that as well).

Johnson claimed that he was so drunk he has no memory of the evening after dinner whatsoever and his lawsuit hinges at the proven fact that Nevada gaming regulations are quite clear that casinos cannot "permit persons who're visibly intoxicated to take part in gaming activity".

His lawsuit claims that he was slurring his words, constantly dropping chips, and that he was unable to set his own hands at pai gow or tell different chips from each other -- all usual signs that somebody will have had a couple of too many adult beverages.

Complicating his claims slightly is the truth that he stayed on the town but moved over to the Hard Rock Casino to continue gambling, with the Downtown Grand actually calling the Hard Rock to lead them to conscious about the debt that Johnson had already rung up.

Johnson's ambitious lawsuit not just seeks to have the debt wiped away entirely but may be requesting punitive damages for the Downtown Grand given that they've harmed his reputation and acted inappropriately.
