Sometimes betting poker is rather like betting football, since you wish to win that first hand or game to transport forward. After all the old joke that matches here's concerning the compulsive gambler who's really buried in bad bets and he says to his ally and bookmaker "Please, please give me a game to bet, give me a sure winner," and his buddy gives in and tips him to a sure thing where nobody knows the starting quarterback isn't going to play. I like to bet football parlay cards, and that i like to play poker, so this Saturday and Sunday in Phoenix were terrific. First, Saturday night was Andrew Bloom's 7th Annual Charity Poker Event Benefiting DYHA and AAA Bobcats (That's Hockey, Baby!) where I mingled with the stars, was treated to an ideal night of foods and drinks by Andrew and his lovely wife Babs, and naturally a poker tournament presented by Jeff Geller and Dream Dealers. I DID NOT win the tournament, but I got to enjoy watching the Arizona Cardinals tackle the San Francisco 49'ers on Sunday. The Cards lost, but my parlay was still great!
Cardinals DE Calais Campbell had 3 solo tackles plus a hand in on another and a quarterback sack, however the San Francisco 49ers pulled out a 32-20 win over the Arizona Cardinals. This coming Saturday night, also within the Phoenix area (Paradise Valley), is the Calais Campbell #93 Celebrity Poker Invitational with proceeds benefiting the Care Fund and CRC Foundation.
