If you do not know what the heck G2E Gaming Expo is, it is the largest gaming show and convention within the world, slated for the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas September 24-26. In the event you haven't attended before, the show is truly a terrific thing. Imagine the entire biggest (and a few of the smallest) slot manufacturers, table game designers, software designers, gaming suppliers, and gaming experts multi function place hawking their products, showing videos, doing seminars, and handing out brochures and samples. For those who can imagine that, now double it and you're probably close.
If you have an interest in attending, there's a cost, starting at $299 for an Exhibit Pass, which I ways think is weird since all of the vendors are paying an arm and a leg to turn me their products and i've to pay to look them, but that is the deal. There also are such a lot of conferences and shows that you just can't possibly see all of them. And, remember that room prices and availability in Las Vegas through the conference is also impacted, so plan accordingly!
Also bobbing up is the primary Event Final Table of the 2013 World Series of Poker. There have been 6,352 entries for the $10,000 buy-in Texas Hold'em championship, and they're going to be playing survive ESPN starting November 4th. The full entries is the bottom in 10 years for the primary event, with slightly fewer players coming from online poker sites where they won paid entries. The large increase in players 839 in 2003 to a high 8,776 in 2006 had much to do with players winning online satellite tournaments, an idea that first emerged in 1980 because the brainchild of WSOP tournament director Eric Drache to get more players into the primary event. I ASSUME we will be able to say it was a success!
